As a nutrition consultant, I work as a freelance writer and researcher for various publications, and also as an advisor and spokesperson for several food and nutrition organizations, food companies and trade associations. I choose my clients carefully, putting an emphasis on science-based evidence and the overall philosophy of the company/organization. While the information I convey may support my client’s objectives, my views and opinions are my own. I do not put forth any communications that are not supported by good science as I interpret it.
As a communicator, I am sometimes paid to write, blog, tweet and post on my client’s behalf. When I do so, I always identify the post or blog entry as such, either within the text itself, or at the top of the post; tweets include appropriate hashtags to identify them as sponsored or paid.
I am a registered dietitian and member of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics. As such, I am bound by the Code of Ethics for the Dietetics Profession. I have built my career on effectively and honestly communicating nutrition information to a variety of audiences. I strive to do so with integrity, fairness and transparency. In addition, I have pledged to adopt the Guiding Principles of RDs4Disclosure.
My current and past clients are listed under the “Services” tab on my website.
